Assignment #8
The polynomial video made some things more clear to me. It clairified the fact that combining like terms like x and x squared isn't possible. It also confirmed that adding 3x+4y isn't possible and that it is in it's simplest form. Purplemath.com also taught me that the term without a variable is called a constant term. So in the equation 3m SQUARED+2m+7, 3m squared is the leading term and 7 is the constant term.

Assignment #5 ↓☺
I chose the article Back to school shopping bargains and Hot sellers on Ebay. The Back to school bargains article caught my eye because I love back to school shopping... It's my favorite shopping trip of the year! This article talked about how used clothing stores in Mentor like Plato's closet had good sales and nice clothes for a great price. They have clothing brands like Hollister, American Eagle, and Abercrombie for cheap prices, even in the downfall of the American economy. I'm always on the look out for great bargains. There you can find name brand Jeans for just $16! I learned that to get the best, you don't always have to go to the actual store and pay an arm and a leg for a T-Shirt. Going to little stores like this, saves a lot of money and time. Next time that I go clothes shopping, I'll be sure to check out discount stores like this one
Before writing my blog, I was just on Ebay looking at some auctions for new ipod nano accessories. When I looked on the website to find my articles, I saw this one and wanted to read it. The article talked about what is and isn't selling on Ebay and how certain sellers are making large amounts of money off of selling these items. These items include designer purses and jeans, digital cameras, model trains and musical instruments. This article does not relate to me as much as it does to my dad. My dad is on Ebay and buys computer parts, printers, cameras, and the occasional things for me(☺). He's a big computer guy and likes to play around with computers and cameras. On Ebay, he can get good deals on things. I learned that you don't have to sell new items to make a decent profit on things. I also learned that you can buy used things for a cheaper price that are still in good condition.

Assignment #4
According to the article, the average person drives approx. 15 miles to work one way. So, if you are driving to work and back, you would drive approx. 30 miles. The average work week is 5 days long so 5x30 is 150 miles. You would drive 150 miles per week to work and back. The average person drives way more than to work and back, though. From the last assignment, I found out that my car got 56 mpg and the local gas price was $3.23. Using the equation 350/56x3.23=T(total cost) then I would spend around $20.19 on one week of driving... not a bad deal! Now I am starting to see the benefits of having a hybrid car, especially a SMART car!
*BONUS*
Since most months have 4 weeks, you could do the equation 350x4/mpgxP=T to get how much gas would cost in a month. Plugging in all the numbers, i found out that I would spend $80.75 a month on gas. To find out how much gas would cost per year, you do the equation 350x52/mpgxP=T. I would spend $1,049.75 on gas per year.

I don't know?
Hi,
I'm kind of confused here. I kind of understand what we're doing in class right now, but not as much as I think that i should. If anybody has any tutoring skills or tips to try to remember how to do all this stuff, comment on this post... I'll take all the help I can get! Thanks to all of you who've already helped me! Sorry if I'm being annoying with all my questions and stuff! Thanks in advance to all of you who will try to help me!

Assignment #3-GRADED☺
If I were given the opportunity to get a brand new car all expenses paid (by my wonderful parents, of course) I would get a 2009 SMART car fortwo passion cabriolet in metallic blue. These cars are eco-friendly, mp3 compatible, have a 6 disk CD changer, soft top with a heated rear glass window that's fully automatic, side roof bars removable, panoramic roof, automatic windows and the best part is that it's a convertible! It is approximately $16,590.00 It doesn't specify exactly how many gallons of gas it holds, but it does give an approximate number. The SMART car holds between 7.3 and 10 gallons of gas. The great thing about this car is that it gets 56 miles to the gallon. According to gasbuddy.com gas costs $3.23 per gallon. Let's say that my car holds 10 gallons of gas. Using the equation 10*3.23=___ it will cost me $32.30 to fill up my tank. On a full tank of gas, the equation 10*56=___ will give me the distance I can go on a tank of gas. I can go 560 miles on one tank of gas. How's that for a good deal? I would love to have a SMART car bought for me when I get my licence!
